looking good mate, only one question, are you wearing your trousers low on your hips or do you have the worlds longest torso?

40s pattern trousers shoudl be pulled right up and buttoned around the stomach well over the hips, yours look very low making your torso look overly long.

If you do have an overly tall torso my apologies :)

Yeah, get yourself some braces... it'll improve the look no end. As per usual Sabre probably have some. ;) The postwar elasticated ones are ideal, but make sure you get very long ones since you're tall, they are sized by your height.

Other than that it's looking great!! :good:

This is truly 'stitch counter' i'm afraid and i really hope I've got this wrong.... but... which way do you polar bears face on your insig.

The bears should face forwards to the front.

But other than that, cracking impression!

Took this impression for a spin a while back, A Normandy 1944 Ranger with a Shoot n' Scoot M1(based on a CYMA M14)

Cracking impression, thinking about doing something very similar...

Whats wrong with his footwear? Ive seen scores of pics of rangers with leggings and roughouts?

Rangers did cut there leggings down to five inchs in some units though.

Thanks for the feedback guys I appreciate it!

I have to be brutally honest I based my impression on Saving private Ryan (Ed Burnes specifically, I have a BAR also).

My kit list is: roughout boots, gaiters, HBT trousers (as I was told by SOF that they wore these instead of the woolen ones), M41 Jacket, woolen shirt, M1 steel pot with string cover, basic M1 garand webbing set with water bottle.

My helmet has the orange diamond with the black 2.

If they wore the old Para boots later on in Normandy then this probably should have been described as a D-Day loadout, my apologies.

I have to admit I would like to keep the orange diamond on the back of the pot, and the netting I have to admit was purely because Sgt. Rock has one and that a lot of the Kelly's Heroes had them!

So to be more accurate: loose the HBT's, get woolen trousers instead and lose the netting?

Whoah... paragraphs and punctuation are your friend you know?

In all seriousness. Thanks for the info, I know only a little about US kit as it pretty much leaves me cold. I tend to learn about specific units for articles and most ranger pics i'd seen to date had them in leggings and low boots. But always good to learn new stuff.

Cheers.

Good stuff.

Most my knowledge of the rangers comes from Anthony Katchers 'the american soldier' and a ruck of osprey titles ;)

Was only joking about the paragraph thing, i thought you might have been posting from a mobile phone to be honest at first.
